Smart Urban Biking – The ideas so far

[:en]Day 2 of the Smart Urban Biking Creathon: What are the ideas so far?

Smart Urban Biking bikesFive teams joined the Smart Urban Biking Creathon, this weekend at the DesignLab of the University of Twente. These teams, all with different disciplines, battle each other to develop the smartest idea about cycling in the city. These are the teams and their ideas!

Team Cyclops: Sofia Kyriazi, Andrea Veciana, Nadia Wriu Zamora, Kevin Hofhuis
“Our application helps to integrate newconmers who want to integrate in Smart City Biking by reducing risk and guiding Dutch biking common sense.
Smart City Biking is the concept of Dutch biking culture with the benefits of smart cities like realtime information about dangerous places and what’s the status of bicycle parking spots in cities.”

Team Fietsionairs: Aron Klaas, Bart-Jan Herweijer, Alice Pap, Guilherme Luis, Edwin Legters
Team Fietsionairs want to develop a network of electrical bikes who could be taken on a rental base. These connected bikes can communicate by internet and exchange data. “Benefit of this concept is that quality of the bicycle and bicycle pleasure can be guaranteed.“

Team Magic Sand: Shengce Wang, Runjie Huang, Lorena Chavez, Gustavo Berumen, Erik Prieto
This team wants to implement a more efficient algoritm for traffic lights while waiting based on user feedback.

Team Smart Loop: Susan Verbeek, Hao Wu, Juliana Holanda Bonomo, Natasha Tanushevska, Tiago Fioreze, Ahmed Yilmaz
“Our idea is to use smart materials and technologies to break the weather barrier so potential cyclists would really go to take their bike out of the shed!”

Team Freewheelers: Isabelle Heimans, Irene Hesseling, Roos Edelijn, Esther de Roller, Boudewijn Reiziger, Stef Vugteveen
“Make bike sheds more attractive by using information.”

Curious about the development of their concepts? Come over and take a look, or visit the Grande Finale, Sunday 20th November at 15:00 hours.[:nl]Day 2 of the Smart Urban Biking Creathon: What are the ideas so far?
